Dr. Mark M Mosavianpour (PhD, MSc, MPH, BSc, RN), Director of Clinical Operations
Mark earned his Ph.D. in Experimental Medicine from the University of British Columbia (UBC) Faculty of Medicine with a specialty in Health Care Quality Improvement. Mark has worked in quality of care in many hospitals in Vancouver including BC Children’s Hospital (BCCH), Royal Columbian Hospital, Peace Arch Hospital, Delta Hospital, Queens Park Care Center, and Burnaby Hospital. In addition, he holds a degree in nursing from Vancouver Community College and is a Registered Nurse (RN) in BC and a member of BC Nurses’ Union. He has extensive experience working in residential hospitals and long-term care. Since 2010, Mark has been working in a variety of hospitals, agencies, and governmental systems in Vancouver to improve health and quality of care for patients and their families. This has helped him gain the expertise required to provide quality care to our patients and the elderly population. Furthermore, Mark has degrees in Anesthesia, Health Education, and Health Promotion with more than 10 years of experience in international hospitals in most programs and departments.
Helen Sarmast (Doctoral Student, MA, BSc), Executive Director
Helen is an accomplished health care professional and educational leader with over 10 years of experience in the fields of health care and education. Helen holds a Masters’ degree from the University of British Columbia in Adult Learning and Education, majoring in the evaluation of educational programs for health care professionals. Currently, Helen is studying at a doctoral program in Educational Leadership and Policy at the University of British Columbia. Helen has years of experience in developing, implementing, and managing, and evaluating Health Promotion, Health Education, and Health Literacy initiatives with a focus on promoting healthy lifestyles among different age groups. She has worked with seniors in Vancouver for years and collaborated with many Canadian elders’ health and educational projects conducted by the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University (SFU). She has worked directly with various senior centres in Vancouver, Richmond, and Langley. Her ultimate goal is to help patients and elders to maintain and improve their health, stay active and connected, and live with dignity. Additionally, Helen has a BSc in Public Health and Family Planning with in-depth experience in Public Health, Health Education, Health Promotion, Mental Health, and Substance Abuse Withdrawal topics. She has worked with UBC, BCCH, SFU, and Vancouver General Hospital.
